Solid Foundation is proud to present its first annual Skate and Art Summer Camp, a 4-week program that includes skateboarding lessons and art workshops all in one place. Our instructors Ryan Banach and Roberto Celis will guide the campers through a vast array of programs involving skateboarding and art, ranging from skateboarding lessons to skateboard creation to designing the artwork on a skateboard and everything in between. Lessons are available to all skill levels, so don’t fret if it is the camper’s first time on a skateboard. Having fun is the top priority here, so there is no skill level required to join us!

For the past 5 years, Ryan has been working with children in the capacity of an action sport’s coach and camp supervisor. His passion for skateboarding and teaching has brought him all over the country from New Jersey to North Carolina, Colorado, and Los Angeles. Ryan has gained tremendous experience in programming and planning by working for such organizations as:
• Solid Foundation as a college intern and coach
• The Outerbanks YMCA by serving a the lead skate coach
• Eagle County Recreation’s Department as the skateboard programmer and supervisor
• Vail Resorts as a fully certified private snowboard instructor
• Stoked Mentoring as a skateboarding coach and after school teacher for inner-city youth
• Star Education as an after school recreation coach and mentor.
Ryan’s journey has brought him full circle. It all started with a simple and undeniable passion for skateboarding and, after getting his professional experience, he has come back home to do what he does best: share his passion for skateboarding with kids.
As the director and instructor, he will bring a fun, positive, and safe, learning environment to the skateboarding program so that students will foster relationships and enhance personal growth. Throughout the program, he will focus on enhancing perseverance, creativity, confidence, self-esteem, and building friendships, while having fun and staying true to our core values!!!
Our art instructor is Roberto Celis. Roberto has had an extensive career in the arts, first receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Crafts/Material Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and then continuing to receive his Master of Fine Arts in Studio Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has taught after school art programs to elementary and middle schoolers and has also been a professor of art at the collegiate level. His work has been shown throughout the Unites States as well as internationally in Germany, Argentina, and Uruguay.
We are so excited to be kicking off this new annual skate camp for all the young skaters out there and cannot wait to see you all this summer!
